Warrior

In the reflection I see
The tears of a warrior
Dripping into the pools
That reflect them

She’s vaguely familiar
This crying warrior
But hers is a fierce beauty
A beauty based on horror

She’s unlike any I’ve ever seen
Distant, hard, unyielding
Her eyes black in the shadows
Are piercing and set to kill

There is no reason for this thing
For writing of this warrior
I’ve never met her before
And she’s terrifyingly beautiful

And I choose to write of her
Of me this cold ice thing
I’ve never been so beautiful
And I’ve never been so hard
