Dakota Cold

It’s cold where I am
But maybe the sun will shine today
Brown eyes stare up at me
Needing the comfort my arms offer

I’m trying to see out my window
Fog defeats all my undertakings
And my breath marks its territory
As the lamp lights on

Slowly I see the rise of dawn
As, simultaneously, I see the death of frost
And your foot prints in the snow
Reflect into my eyes

Your steady knock; your rosied face
The comfort of the Dakotas is here
The fire and our talk
Win all for most warmth

Talk of winter and talk of spring
And talking of all important things
An argument finally concluded
Words win the grand debate

And then you know that I’ve won
When my words pour from your mouth
So unsuspected,
Slapping yourself was never so necessary

"I thought I'd just mention in passing . . . I always wanted a Sparkly of my very own." -Jeremy The Crow

So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart.
