Never doesn't mean forever,
it just means another day.
Always won't last forever,
it's another precious day.

He's always lived in winter,
never seen a spring.
So the smile he wears
is just a mask
against what winter brings.

He'd love to laugh,
to mirror the twinkle in your smile.
But his laughter is only an echo,
a remnant of something lost.

Although the scars of yesterday remain,
it's the pain of tomorrow he fears.

We are each of us angels with only one wing. And we can only fly by embracing each other.

Thanks Hunnie. I actually wrote this as an answer to a poem one of my friends gave me. I just haven't summed up the courage to give it to her yet.
