To succeed at love one needs to be a little bit here and a little bit there and have the eyes of one who looks left, right, up, down, around, within. ‘Tis a grand landscape that eyes behold when the complete and utter picture is made available but the price beyond the common man remains an obstacle to the knowing and the owning of the all that is. I paid the price and in my heart hold now only the change but heavy, oh, so heavy, that change unseen but felt. And so to beggars on the street I wish to give it all away but when the change comes own it now and know it’s meant to be a burden that is carried till death begets relief. No one can change and stay the same though looks belie the fact and no one can own another’s change though I surely wish they would! Helen / 23 January 2009 |

Helen, this feels to be an intense emotional purging of a some serious pain and suffering! Sending peaceful wishes on winds of change. |

Helen - Sometimes we wish the circumstances which produce the change would not happen. Yet, it does and we must indeed carry its burden to the grave. But it is believed also that growth is ordained for all life. And it usually starts after change. You captured a human essence with this one Helen. Enjoyed and Thanks. Namyh |

Oh, Honey, "a burden that is carried till death begets relief." ~ Now that is one heavy burden. Your words reached out and grabbed me by the solar plexus. Giving you a warm and compassionate hug, Linda |

"To succeed at love one needs to be a little bit here and a little bit there and have the eyes of one who looks left, right, up, down, around, within." Helen, I adored this stanza. Thankful for sharing such a touching poem. |

"To succeed at love one needs to be a little bit here and a little bit there and have the eyes of one who looks left, right, up, down, around, within." ...and therein lies the burden...love is such a nebulous thing...to be able to describe it is as difficult as the effort to harness it...beautifully written...heartfelt expression of a timeless topic |
