              Bygone Days

They had been married for forty odd years
And Jack was tired from a rather long walk,
He was dying to lay down and go off to sleep
But Madge felt romantic and wanted to talk.

“Remember when we were courting,” she said
“You were always there holding my hand,
It’s a long time since you were that way inclined,
Why now there is nothing you ever demand.”

Wearily he reached out and clasped her old hand,
Then released it and turned back to sleep,
When another few moments had slowly elapsed,
She said, “ then you’d kiss me and put me to sleep.”

Mildly irritated, he reached slowly across,
And on her cheek he gave her a quick peck,
Thirty seconds later before he could move, she said
“Then you’d amorously bite me on the neck..”

Angrily he threw the bed covers right back
And staggered slowly from the comfort beneath,
“Where are you going,” the old lady cried out,
He said, “ to the bathroom to bring back my teeth.

Yo Lindsay,

There's nothing like a good pair of dentures.  They come in handy, or mouthy, or whatever.

My good friend Bobby they certainly do come in handy in more ways than one.

Ida dear, a wrinkled romance is a lot better than no romance at all. Most of us are still young at heart anyway.

My Lovely Margherita, you always say the nicest things, you have a very kind heart.

Hope dear lady, I'm glad you had a laugh.
You should wake up your hubby and read it to him, it might give him some ideas.

Thanks to all you kind folks and may the sun shine upon you always. Love.

This is what I've come to expect from you and you didn't disappoint.  Thanks!  I'm still grinning and, thankfully, still have my own teeth - not "into" biting though.
