THE BOYS OVER THERE By Billie age 16 Solders have died at Gettysburg. Some at Guadalcanal. Boys are lying in Flanders field. Others went over the bow. Some are sleeping in cold dark graves. Others in the cool green sea. They are at rest, they know the peace That we still fight for and seek. We remember the boys on the battle field. And those in the clear blue sky. They see their comrades suffer and die But, they still know how to fight. We'll give a toast to the boys over there. To the boys across the sea, They are fighting a war of pain and blood So that peace again we will see. Wtiten about 1943 concerning World War Two |

This series of poems are a great reminder of the wonderful dedication and committment of the fighting men and women that have served in the military to insure the people and country they love, remain SAFE and FREE. This should be a required reading each Memorial Day. Much appreceation for these fine poems. Well done. Tracey. |

Dear Billie, this has a very special feel to it ... it rises so to say from the past into the now and still holds a powerful message to never forget ... but did mankind learn the lesson? We move slowly on the Path of enlightened evolution, very slowly. Beautiful, poignant write! Love, Margherita |
