Daylight's thoughts laid to rest As sleep becomes insistent The tranquil daytime hours succumb Becoming fading will-o'-the-wisp fantasies And slowly sleep occupies the stage Resurfacing in the deep night the plays begin The truth phantoms write the scripts Their hungry power fed by the dauntless Bruised memories of broken dreams ©Marcia Miller-Twiford |
