      To Not Weep Alone

In the Yesterday, I planted a Willow,
A tree to share my moments, sad.
Not wanting to weep alone again
Of losses deep, of what once had....

Beneath her branches, long and dangling
I'd sit and contemplate each word,
Those desires never sharing
Or mine that never had been heard...

The swaying back and forth would calm me,
Allowing peacefulness to reign.
Leaning 'gainst the tree, my Willow,
I'd myst the dreams, that would remain.

         ~~~~~~~~~~
I'd medicate myself in thought
And walk that path, my history.
The grounds of which I planted seed,
Imprinted mine, artistically.
Sometimes imprisoned, segments lost,
I'd feel the end of consciousness.
Until I rose in wealth of self,
A process needed to address
Those just of one, of only me,
As eyes took view of all before;
The petals e'er lasting,  pink,
The black-eyed daisies, I'd adore,
The arbor, over/under spread
With flowers opened wide, so pale.
Soaking in the warmth of day
While walking through the latticed veil.
I'd wander 'round, pass by the pond
Reflecting thoughts in face I'd see,
The ripples when I fed the fish,
As they returned in greet of me.
The weeping willow once newly raised,
Still bending as the breezes blow
In fragileness, continues change
As strength regains, in each years grow.
I fed my mind on natures gifts
And settled on the swing of thoughts,
Suspending judgement of my life
Revering all my eyes had caught.
No tears to sting, no frowns to face
When mirrored in the glass of time.
Today, I cherished with respect
The path once walked, those thoughts in rhyme.
          ~~~~~~~

Embraced for just a moment now
Beneath that special willow tree
Bent a bit too much towards right
Again, a weeping time for me...
M

pure poetry

haikus come to mind    by Chiyo-ni   I beleve

something like...

"a green willow's
quiet wherever
you plant it"

and

"to tangle or untangle
the willow---
it's up to the wind"

a fine 'write' !

I am especially fond of the last part of it:

"I fed my mind on natures gifts
And settled on the swing of thoughts,
Suspending judgement of my life
Revering all my eyes had caught.

No tears to sting, no frowns to face
When mirrored in the glass of time.
Today, I cherished with respect

Again, a weeping time for me..."

much applause!!

Loud applause!!! A totally brilliant write that had me wandering along with you. When a poet makes you feel as though you are part of what inspired the poem that is genius. You did that. You are that. BRAVO!

Yo Nakdthoughts,

This is a nice tree poem.

However, why weep at all.

I love the imagery that this one portrays...especially words like these:

"I'd feel the end of consciousness.
Until I rose in wealth of self"

"However, why weep at all"

I weep...
for the unexpected,
impending loss of my brother-in-law
who is suffering with a cancer
that keeps him from speaking.

I weep...
for my nephews
who are now losing their father
to the same cancer
that took their mother (my sister)
nearly five years ago.

I weep...
for the selfish loneliness within
as I lose another close to me
knowing that this cycle
is only in its beginning

And though they have had good lives
I weep with our memories
and wonder my reason for being
and how to make the rest of my life worthwhile.
               ~~~
Bobby, some people are extremely sensitive
and emotional and caring... maybe overly so.
I am one of those, sometimes to my dismay.
Thank you for reading and the kind responses as I/we await the inevitable.
Oh M, I am so sorry...
maybe you are to be here for your nephews..maybe that is your purpose.
You are a nurturing soul, and I suspect that is what they need.
Much love
and the poem was beautiful..
Thank you Susan, David passed away at 4:00 this afternoon with all of us there.
Yesterday he could tease non-verbally and joke and smile...today he was there in spirit only waiting for his last breath to be taken.
Oh, my friend... Your words are so beautiful... both in your poem and response... I was already close to weeping with you before I read your last post.
I am so very very sorry for your loss... my thoughts and prayers are with you and your nephews and all those who loved David.
my breath stops, my heart cries, my tears begin where yours could flow no more, and I hug you with arms that span the space between us.  Your love is palpable, my friend, and I cry with you your tears....
I just ran across this, and it reminded me of you, and this poem. (And yes, drat me, I lost your e mail addy again)
But knowing your love of nature and design, I thought you'd appreciate the beautiful art of this stair railway:
How awesome is THAT?
Hope it made you smile, dearheart.
