does the dawning sky make walls for sounds
to capture the hollow of hooves in trotting jaunty
as the mistress of mist abides her appointments

and the purple breasted mountains at morrows brim
do they know the orange mouths of morning
without the tasteful residue of moon milk eves

the wind there at her bounty's bosomed sail
does it make love to the sea saliva'd canvas
while it masters the burl of the masthead's moan

and the ocean hand, grinder of salt into bone
does it not count the grains as moments in time
scattered across the lover's shorelined hem

when she writhes the tides, bare knee'd to storm

gets me every time

D,

I feel like I am sharing sleep dreams when I read this.  It's beautiful.
