THE RODEO CLOWN By Billie Cullimore He's not too tall. That guy in the orange hat. I'll bet a buck he knows where it's at. There's a confidence there for the work he does best. Every day his courage is put to the test. Riding and roping and clowing the bulls. To save that rider is his main goal. He seems daring, reckless, laughing and curt. He'll risk his life so a boy don't get hurt. He loves the excitement, the rush that it brings. The cattle, the horses, the thrill of the ring. The noise, the clamor, the smells and all. He's ready in a moment to answer the call. He's not just a bull fighter of course. Look at the way he handles a horse. He'll ride with the best through rain and thunder. Hoping that fate won't throw him a sunder. He's a tough little guy who takes life in stride. Doing what he does with a great deal of pride. He's admired, respected and loved by his peers. And you'll never catch him showing fear. That orange hat is still on his head. The breakaway outfit is about torn to shreds. But the tough little hombre is still on the line. I think as a grandson, He'll Do Just Fine. Dedicated to my grandson "Kegger" Chris Jacobs, a professional rodeo clown. |

How cool this poem is and then to find out that your Grandson is a Rodeo Clown. I love it. I was watching the Bull Riders the other day ... well, no - I was watching the guys who put it all on the line to save the butt of the bull riders when they hit the ground. Those guys are amazing and fearless. I really like this poem, Billie. Thank you, Alison |

Thanks, Alison. It scares me to death to watch him but then I'm up there yelling just like the rest of 'um. Billie C. |

Yo dear Billie, Grandkids are great, arn't they. This poem is very well written. I like it a lot. Bones told me to tell you that the kind, and generous lady is very pretty too. He's sending hugs. Love Bobby [This message has been edited by Robert E. Jordan (05-19-2009 12:46 PM).] |
