Take My Hand And Walk With Me

You hurt my heart, but you didn’t care
You were a friend, with whom I shared

I still remember those words you said
They continue echoing in my head

A friend is a friend, is what I thought
A true friend can never be bought

My friendship is given free and clear
In my heart I hold each one near

There is one thing that I have learned
This heart of mine is often burned

A forgiving heart is what I have inside
Often times it brings tear to my eyes

I keep the hurt and pain from others
I send love and laughter to another

Although I tell quite a bit to someone else
There is so much more I keep to myself

A real true friend is always there
Showing how much they truly care

That is what I intend to be
If only you will accept me

Life is filled with many ups and downs
I promise you my friend, I will always be around

I’ll do my very best, to cheer you up
Whenever life becomes too tough

Just take my hand and walk with me
Together there is nothing we can’t beat

Sue,

I think this is a very uplifting poem that shows a lot about you as a person. I think you would be a wonderful friend - I know you are here. I also know if I ever need a shoulder, I can turn to you.
