So Tell Me Passioned Poet |

So tell me passioned poet, may I know The thoughts that lonely midnight serves to you Do you drink the sweetest nectar pressed from love Or sip a chilling, fruitless iced-regret? Does passion's blush caress your cheeks with thoughts Of days when love laid tenderly her touch All-shining memories that cull the dark And carry you to morning's soft adieu? Or does the sun, in callous light, reveal A sadness that will never kiss the dawn? In lifting gentle eyes to greet the night Do you seduce the alabaster moon Does Luna's light, in awe, avert compare And shine a vassal's fealty on you? Such selflessness you offer without thought Commanding her respect with glowing grace More eloquent than eloquence you gift Your words that sail like swallows on the breeze To stroke a sighing soul with silent balm And flush all selfish anger from these veins. |

Oh, there is but one reply to this wonderful write. More Please! Midnight simmers in validation, of the soul's most deepest wishes, let out to play upon the stage of dream. There, all that is destined is made known in the spotlight of the moon. |

"More eloquent than eloquence you gift Your words that sail like swallows on the breeze To stroke a sighing soul with silent balm And flush all selfish anger from these veins." Now that would be the goal. I fail most often. So? I celebrate failure. On the other hand? That above is entirely quotable, if I only had a brain. A delight, with layers of nuance. |

In lifting gentle eyes to greet the night Do you seduce the alabaster moon Does Luna's light, in awe, avert compare And shine a vassal's fealty on you? Absolutely gorgeous poem. This, so classical in language and style is the true bottom line to me in what is most beautiful about poetry as an art form...enjoyed the read very much~ |

I think I may have been a tad guilty of not thanking everyone for their comments. So here's a mighty thank you to each and everyone of you, here and on other posts. That you have taken the time to read and post such generous comments is very much appreciated. |

Do you drink the sweetest nectar pressed from love Or sip a chilling, fruitless iced-regret? ~*~ Is it because so many read here, or do I sense A knowledge of yes, I'm here again? Whatever it is, it is good, and you are more than welcome. Now, I will have to find out if I or some other member have welcomed you properly. |
