Give me a reason to believe, and let me cling Just a little less on faith, in a universe clear, and far Show me a season brighter than a star More perfect than any melody angels sing Their radiant notes when captured bring And give me hope by all that’s seen When altogether sure and senses keen Then simple truths like bells will ring Unfolding into a glorious ending And I will know with vacant doubt That life within and life without The truth is worth contending! |

Fine reasoning. Nicely done. Runs as smooth as silk. Eric |

Hello Robert, I enjoyed this. It has a hint of a kind of "tender" rap nuance about it, which I find most interesting. You may consider the possibility of putting it to music--not traditional "rap" sound, exactly, but a more acoustic thing...something soothing but with a non-mistakable, positive message. I stumbled a tad with the phrase "vacant doubt" but only for a moment, and only from an objective POV, as I am inclined as well toward the peculiar word combinations upon occasion. As a whole, your poem implies hope. That catches me. Thanks for posting it--I've enjoyed reading and thinking about it and look forward to reading more of your work. Claire |

It seems to me that you are a beautiful seeker and you will find the answers and beliefs (within your heart) that will satisfy you. Beautiful. Love, Margherita |

Hello Robert...a good poem to read on this day before thanksgiving, and I am thankful for the truth. |
