Redemption

On high in night-time watch the stars were spread,
The mournful howling wind began to swirl,
Rain, it echoed darkened tears I had shed,
In sorrow deep I begged to death 'unfurl!'
Yet thrice did heaven scorn the lachrymose,
In woe I walked across the land in shame,
My fate, I authored blood upon a rose,
And velvet whisperings of lust my name.
Yet Venus cried, divinity begat
The gentle one to touch my heart and hopes,
She reached her hand where gods and men had spat,
The voice was hers that bade me shed my ropes
And gave the flight unto my earthbound heart,
The tender solace did her touch impart.

Dedicated to A Romantic Heart

When I see your face all the angels are shamed.

Luke, I am truly happy that you have found the "tender solace" that you so richly deserve. You write of it with grace and gratitude.

With much affection,

Your friend,
Linda
