Saluting with misty eyes

I AM

I  am worn out and wasted
I wonder how I got old
I hear invisible friends disappear
I see him resting by the tumtum tree
I want my children to be free
I am worn out and wasted

I pretend age is just a number
I feel the unicorn tale brush by
I touch the wings on an angel
I worry my paycheck won't last
I cry thinking of the loss
I am worn out and wasted

I understand children are required to grow
I say Life happens
I dream someday to sleep under the trees
I try understanding the country's drastic change
I hope to cance on their graves
I am worn out and wasted

OK, boys and girls (and those of you who haven't figured it out), it is time for my patented "Nothing I write is worth it, let's go back to this" scribble.
Thos of you who ahvae been around have seen this. Fo the new guy and gals, the challenge can be seen at: /pip/Forum7/HTML/000645.html
Try it out and introduce yourself to us.

But this one goes to eleven...

Hi, Ringo! Long time no read!

"I pretend age is just a number" ~ You too?!?

I have done your I AM challenge before and will post a new one today.

I'm pleased you brought this challenge back because I really enjoy learning more about the poets who take up this challenge!

I also get to learn more about myself when I write one! ~ and that may not always be a good thang! lol

Giving you a big, warm, welcome-back pip hug,

Linda

Hey Ringo, I enjoyed this a lot.  Tried to tell you last night but my computer refused to post my message.  Anyway, I guess I'll have to give this a shot too.  Thanks for sharing part of you with us.
