This Is Earth This is earth mother earth we call her giving us sunshine and water when we let her that's less and less often... This is earth where so many have sought endlessly for the land of milk and honey found salt marshes and the stinger instead! This is earth our cradle "rock-a-bye baby!" valley of sorrow and death where heaven and hell walk comfortably hand in hand. This is earth where the living die and the dead live where 12 million children die without food--that's 32,876.71 child per day give or take... This is earth where the leaders create deficits from our greed to steal the food of those who die to pay them back, why -- -- for dying? -- "This is earth" cries the prophet to the crescent-mooned sky among the stars his voice echoes "Do not come here-- do not come near-- their ignorance so contagious throbs in mortal agony capturing all that passes by!" |

Yo WindWalker, Earth is where you live, and you're every bit a part of it as everybody else. Bobby |

WindWalker - This is Earth where Man in his infancy has yet to become an adult. He builds wondrous castles in the sand and then steps on them with childlike abandon. His cities stretch upward and outward but he'll drop a bomb just to see their destruction. He has become technologically proficient but remains socially retarded and unable to get along with his neighbor, either next door or aross the sea. This is Earth and he calls it Home. Very nice work WindWalker. Namyh |

Nodding in agreement with the previous reply. Too many self-centered spoiled brats have controlled the world and all the precious resources of Gaia. Yes, anyone from beyond our globe looking to Earthlings for solutions on 'How to be a Good Neighbor' or 'How To Live in Peace and Harmony' would be sorely disappointed. Still, there is no option but to keep trying to turn things around, for the sake of 'possible future generations' if not for our own benefit. Another thought provoking write, dear poet friend. |

"their ignorance so contagious throbs in mortal agony capturing all that passes by!" ... yes indeed ... [one might even insert adjectives like endless or infinite in front of the word 'ignorance'] effective 'social impact'/conscience 'write' ! |

Cynical, but I can't deny the truth of your poem. I suppose it's the buck in your pocket which ultimately decides whether you are in heaven or hell. Looked upon, as a whole, we are not really getting it right, are we? |

truth hurts doesnt it ! we are not getting it right agreed ! but i bet 'my bottom dollar' (to coin an american phrase) that there is an awful lot of of 'joe publics' out there who are getting it right, therefore the buck has to stop with leaders. anyway....inspiring poem, at the very least in the sense of conversation ! |

Yes, dear One Who Walks With Wind. This most definitely is one aspect of Earth and Earthlings. We're still experiencing growing pains! I pray that better times are ahead. However, I doubt that will come to pass until Man does one heckuvvalot of house-cleaning ~ or Gaia does it for us! ![]() Love & Earth Light, EA ![]() |
