Bones never tries to fool himself.
He’s a confirmed realist.

When he goes to work the street,
he never even thinks he might
have an easy night.

He thinks he’s going to have a hellish night,
and that his night is going to be horrible.

That way he’s seldom disappointed.

If he does have a good night—
if people just throw money at him
for doing next to nothing.

Well, then that’s a nice,
and pleasant surprise,
isn’t it?

As you might guess,
Bones likes nice surprises
as well as the next guy.

Bobby

Good thinking Bones.
I know Bones is a smart guy just caught in hard circumstances.

Thanks Eric,

For your encouragement of Bones, and for being his friend.

Those hard circumstances can reach out and grab a person.

I wish he could have more pleasant surprises! *S*

Thanks dear Suthern,

For your concern for Bones.

I think Bones is so much like all of us.  He enjoys, and deserves those kinds of good surprises.

Yes, think it and it is so.  Thoughts are things, you know.  I wonder if Bones ill ever learn that but then again he's pretty much like all of us so perhaps not.  However, Bones does have a lot to teach us along the way so perhaps he can be forgiven that one little slip-up.

Hi Bobby, I like the way Bones considers himself and his entourage...He is a convincing philosopher.

you write with such clarity that it sometimes hurts to read of Bones' reality...I usually read and say to myself, "If only...if only..."

Thanks Steavenr,

Yes, Bones reality is also sometimes hard to write about.  However, we all have histories to remember.

Well you can't blame him for that Bobby,
We all like nice surprises. Take care.

Thanks Lindsay,

You and Bones are both correct.

Everyone likes a nice surprise every now and then.

I've had many myself, as I'm sure you have too, and thank heavens for that.
