Tormented soul, release thyself from bondage Fly to the air to take your wing Let go of the Earth and mortal chains That hold you back from what you want Let not any code, rule nor convention Keep thee from happiness and pleasure Decorum has no place among nature And thy soul is time immemorial To live is divine and the time is now To love and to run free, and to be Experience every urge no matter how small There is never a tomorrow Only a here and now And allowing every sensation felt Giving and receiving are two of the same Mutual appetites satiated when needed Tortured spirit, torn between two worlds Torment thyself no more |

To live is divine and the time is now To love and to run free, and to be Experience every urge no matter how small There is never a tomorrow Only a here and now For me, this has a somber tone befitting the title... but many of the words are hopeful. You write wisdom we all should heed. *S* This is superb!! |

I disagree with Bobby... Not all poetry has to be modern, thank heavens, or be written in the vernacular of the day. *S* I like the formality and timelessness of the language you used. |

Yo Chalmette Guy, Did you ever read anything by T. S. Eliot. Is he one of your "gangsta rap" poets? Hows about Allen Ginsberg, or Carl Sandburg? Are the "gangsta rap" poets? I really don't care what language you use. Bobby |
