Do you ever enjoy silent places, the quiet corners of your mind?
Scenes where you stood unaccompanied, leaving everything behind.

Some days I go there, because the solitude is sweet
It’s a place where I can be whole, and totally complete.

In this place there is a lake, where water ripples from the breeze
I stretch out in the soft green grass, which stirs beneath tall trees.

And the clouds are gently floating by; the sky is a brilliant blue
I can hear the wind inside the leaves, they dance within my view.

I’m breathing in the sweetest air, my hands behind my head,
I haven’t felt this composed in a while; I’m glad that I have fled.

I am unaccompanied, but surrounded by so much living,
Leaves and grass, trees and water, so unselfish and so giving.

I want to run and jump and sing,
And return to my youth as an innocent thing.

However, I return to life a little more collected
And I leave there with my sanity a little more protected.

I think this is the first time I have read one of your poems and I found it a pleasure to read. You painted a beautiful word picture
of a place of serenity that was easy to visualize. Very well written. Take care.
