It’s in the night when all is quiet that it comes When there is nothing to compete for control It is the nightmare of constant thoughts An emptiness consuming the soul Images play out on a screen in my eyes The loss and the memory of it all replays I can’t stop thinking of the travesty of life Hidden behind the smiling guise it portrays Tired and wanting of sleep in irony absence The darkness brings its own comfort sleek But with it, come the haunting voices All familiar in the words that they speak I know not the memory which comes next This, another night of tragic madness A certain grace floods and washes over me Drowning me to sleep in beautiful sadness |

Drowning me to sleep in beautiful sadness Such a wonderful write of pain... finished with a line that's pure perfection. Most excellent! *S* |

Beautiful sadness - I have had such nights. Melancholy minutes slowly passing - and I just think in words. Very nice, CG. A |

Oh, I loved this. I always believed there was something oddly beautiful about sadness. I sort of enjoy being melancholy at times, just for it's blue loveliness. Maybe why I, along with so many artists, writers, poets and songwriters love to play with sad colors. Thanks for this. Beautiful and true.
