OUR DRIVEWAY 23 July 2001 Sundrops lighting up our laughter laughing in our eyes splashes on our shoulders as we scamper up our driveway hand in hand in earth-stained abandon. Your brushstrokes kissed the light, the mood, the moment, illuminating. How I wish you hadn’t rent the canvas in two between you and me in dying leaves, remembering. Each evening I scrape the owl feathers and squirrel hair off the saddened tamboti bark but each morning it’s all back in mourning. - Owl |

What a beautiful and poignant write, Diana. I can see the driveway, the leaves, the owl feathers and squirrel hairs. |

I wish you hadn’t rent the canvas in two between you and me in dying leaves, remembering. Here poet bares herself.... emotions become restrained yet waves of a sea. |
