LET PEACE BEGIN WITH THE MASSED CHOIR FESTIVAL
21 September 2003

Hundreds and thousands of angels
flying millions of souls heavenwards
on liquid song that sings
the sun and moon…
after this
how can there ever be anything less than
peace, love and happiness?

Thank you, Ida.  I am glad you thought so.

Sue, it was a competition of dozens of massed black choirs, here in South Africa, and each one was as superb as the other.  Their singing was so beautiful, that it seemed that they must all be angels.

Oh, so you sing, Helen.  I would love to hear you sing – especially if you composed the lyrics yourself.  Thanks for reading and enjoying.  I am sure you would have been welcome in any of the choirs.

Thank you ,Ruth.  I am glad you enjoyed it so much.

smiling wide--

You are an idealist, as am I.

(Okay, I'm a cynical idealist, but probably just to cover ground.)

And this is soooooooo on time for me.

My son is in the University Choral group, and I'm so looking forward to his (their) first performance next week, so thank you for this...and yes, there are perfect moments when I wish I could stop time.

And I'm so eager for those moments, I wish time would hurry up!

Love you my dear Diana!

(and yes, my son rolls his eyes at me--he asked if I intend to go "all out" to see him open his mouth to sing an A flat--and you betcha I will!)

Thanks, Karen.  Smiles.  You may be a cynical idealist.  I am a realistic idealist!  I am glad my timing was so good.  Wish I could join you to hear your son sing next week.  Enjoy!

If only we could maintain that sense of wonder and harmony long enough to influence our every action and thought.

This was so uniquely touching, dear Diana!

Yes, I wish so too, Margherita.  The world would be a much kinder, happier place.  Thank you for your lovely comments.

liquid song that sings...
Your fluid poem makes me believe. A faith emerges from inside. I feel like being out of bath, fresh.

Yo dear Owl,

It would be nice if good things could happen that easily.

Thank you Kushal.  I am so glad that my poem and the experience of hearing those magical voices had such a wonderful effect on you.  It seems to me that every single black person - well, in South Africa anyway - is born with a voice of an angel.

Bobby, I wish so too.  The crime rate in our country is so very high, but hearing those unbelievable voices made me feel that there was no way on earth, that any of those singers could ever do anything wrong.
