THE SUNRISE By Billie Cullimore My cat woke me up this morning I know what she's trying to say. "Get up, my servent, it's dawning. Come, let us enjoy the day. I want my breakfast, old master. It's time you were getting my feed. The sun is up, it is daylight. Can't you just pick up some speed?" I open my eyes to the dim light, Sleep has long since been destroyed. She's sitting right now on my stomach. By now, I'm slightly annoyed. I drag my feet to the window, The sun trying to shine through the fog. I wonder as I stand here yawning. Why didn't I just get a dog? I try to enjoy the sunrise, The dawn with the pink and gold hue. But I'm pestered by that one with the wiskers. Oh! Wait, there's not one, there's TWO. "Get up, my servent," Isn't that just about the way it is with all pets, Makes me wonder; Who owns who? Wonderfully entertaining. Love Tracey. |
