If I were an eagle And the cliff was my home I would soar through the skies All the earth I would roam If I were a monkey Living up in a tree I'd swing through the jungle With my thoughts running free If I were a sea horse A large wave I would ride Recapture the magic Through the water I'd glide But I'm just a person As simple as can be So happy that I am Just Little ol' me |

smiling wide... It's so lovely to meet you, Eloise. Are you Irish by any chance? I ask because your poem reminds me so of a ditty I heard in an old movie once: "If the ocean were whiskey and I were a duck I'd dive to the bottom and never come up!"  Yours is lovelier, methinks. And I am in obvious angst over the loss of my scotch, or even Irish whiskey would do...  <--somebody pick 'er up, will ya?*laughing* But anyhow... Your quatrains are tightly metered and the flow was grand. Thank you, for helping me to remember a delight of a movie, too. Sleepytime tea for me now. And some melatonin? And maybe tylenol p.m. g'nite and nice to meet you in such a lovely way. |
