Well ev'ry city's made an ocean Out of ev'ry stone cold heart it bears From pebbles, dust and molten ashes To salt licked mist and gulls and air You see, my boat's doubled as a harbour My docks feel and touch and prod An' as my belly's gnarly heart labours My hands trickle like a cod's Well why should I listen closely When the moon spews its whites all around? They drip and burn my skin like ivory While the moon distracts me from its sound Well let me spell it out for you, baby S-T-O-P-A-N-D-G-O I know love'll stay with us forever Or atleast as far as love'll go Well you best write what you remember An' you best remember what you right 'Cause they say a pocketfull of sunshine Means a Hell of alot more night |
