When all other devices are laid bare Reach out and lay both your hands upon me No matter how far away, night or day Feel desire as the one thing you need I am the only one here you can touch More than a hunger this craving you know Sometimes seems blinding it becomes so much The hardest part of all is letting go Thoughts are the poison to the body’s soul You speak in language of one to suppress Over wrought and a need to lose control All cast as villains fey and dangerous ‘tis the essence of a life worth saving As you spend one more night alone, craving |

I am the only one here you can touch More than a hunger this craving you know Sometimes seems blinding it becomes so much The hardest part of all is letting go ... ‘tis the essence of a life worth saving As you spend one more night alone, craving I know... *sheepish grin* I almost quoted your poem back to you. *S* But they ache with such beautiful intensity... no poison in these thoughts, just perfection!! |

I understand feeding the craving and how hard it is to let it go. You describe it well in your poem. Alison |

Reasoning supplants feeling ~ far too often. This poem gives a whole new meaning to the slogan, "Reach out and touch someone." Gosh, I wish my arms were longer! lol EA |

I normally don't enjoy reading poems that rhyme... however, I am more than willing to re-think my opinions when pieces like this are written. Great job! But this one goes to eleven... |
