         Columbia's Edge*

         Counsel your children

         Old blue ice that
         no one has ever seen
heaves up from the depths of
         time

         Monstrous gems in
         priceless hues of
         turquoise and sapphire
         erupt into the northern light

         Then
         wondrous as they may be
         drift away to
         the melting sea

They are magnificent, and for all their awesome size and strength, they are still fragile to fluctuations in temperature and other environmental changes.
Thanks for the link, and for the sensitivity you show in general for Gaia.

Thanks for your comment, Kacy.
Some of us feel for even the likes of a glacier and its role on this small blue planet.
I fear that our care-lessness has already become our legacy.

For such a serious issue, you sure do put it in poetic and beautiful (I might add)words! Excellent write!

An important message, powerfully expressed, dear Krawdad.
Some say we are going towards a new glacial era and others foresay disasters of the greenhouse effect. Cycles.
But what we must do is respect Nature.

Thank you for this contribution of impact.

Love,
Margherita

You draw much-needed attention to this issue ~ and you have done so, masterfully.

I clicked on your link, but unfortunately I am unable to watch the videos.  ~ "due to rights restrictions this program is only available for online viewing in the United States."
