Bones and his
beautiful Griselda
no longer mess about
with flowers,
holding hands,
sweet-talk,
and stuff like that.

They know each other
way too well for that.

They get right down
to the nitty-gritty.

I think they had such hard lives, things like flowers and holding hands have a stench of bitterness(not towards each other, but the world).
