We built a bridge of great friendship Over the chasms of loneliness and despair The planks we used were from walls torn down And love was used to build each and every stair Our thoughts dwell on the past too long Our eyes foggy don't always remain clear We move forward in footsteps oh so small Trying to forget things we once held dear When faced with trials, we feel so small It's then we need faith, and something to hold to That old bridge we will cross one last time It's our future and something we must do Whatever awaits us on the other side We embrace because happiness can be found And when obstacles no longer affect how we feel Then it will be time to burn old bridges down |

Paul - I find many meaningful thoughts in this writing. Old bridges can be burned down, but sometimes it take time... BC |

Paul, I like how you've maintained the physical bridge imagery throughout the piece. A smooth read. Mark |

"when obstacles no longer affect how we feel Then it will be time to burn old bridges down" The perfect ending. I enjoyed the read. |
