It feels like eels are circling
in my reef cave ribcage
each wish is a fish they devour
with ravenous unevolved jaws

Or are they little Loch Ness monsters
a trick of light upon the water
a fingernail imposed into a photo
a six inch submarine?

The bloodbait bobs and sinks
I let the line out slowly
I feel a tremble in my last good hand
and then the line snaps taut.

I hope you are not mad at me.

We have similar inspirations.

Much enjoyed.

Poets often troll the depths of their experience-bank for inspiration.
An enjoyable read, and lady Serenity's posts  are always an inspiring catch.
I like the little Nessie reference.
