Mind moves towards the far out there
like a frightened animal
seeking comfort from a storm
and there’s a frenzy present
in its usual calm demeanour
that belies perceived acceptance
of love’s prolonged absence.

How far it travels no one knows
but the endeavour painless
when released from the shackles
of everyday concerns
until finally a welcoming
and mind is happy then.

And that happiness like a fire
in a dark and sombre mood
that burns despair and anguish
until only love remains.

So love is there but I am here
confined within my body mass
and yet the join must be enjoyed
no matter what the cost
and the cost more anguish and despair
than ere was known before.

‘tis a crazy mind that knows no bounds
but mind so much the stronger
than perceived acceptance
of love’s prolonged absence!

I love these lines! *S* Some little voice is always whispering "protect yourself"... but that protection carries a heavy price, too. *S* Excellent write!

Thanks everyone for your kind replies. The mind is a funny thing because it seems to choose not to sleep when I'm sleeping. I wish it would though.
