jack vettriano Pictures, Images and Photos

We both know where we stand,
Nothing's expected of you,
I know you are taken,
For now this will do,

So don't tell me you love me,
Just fulfill my needs,
And don't break my heart,
It so easily bleeds,

But remember this,
And don't ever forget,
I can do as I please,
I am nobody's pet,

I'll take from you,
All I can stand,
And I'll give in return,
Yes, All that I can,

Don't make me feel cheap,
Don't think you are mine,
You are nothing to me,
I'm just wasting my time,

You got what you wanted,
Now leave me alone,
Don't make promises,
Don't lie to me,
Just get out, Go Home.

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

I think your intense poem reflects the awkwardness of such a situation very well. To avoid pain one seems to establish rules ... "no one's pet" "no love" "leave quickly". But still the harshness is often the result of a conflict between wanting more than just using each other and knowing that this wish can't be fulfilled.

Love,
Margherita

I was looking through the wonderful artwork of Jack Vettriano and saw this piece.  It had a discription of what the painting was,
Titled, A very Married Woman.

I was inspired by the painting as to what one may have been telling the other,
Not sure who is speaking though.

Thanks for your thoughts on my interpretation of this great artists work.

I enjoy your comments.

I love his art. I have two prints. I think he is my favorite, next to Steve Hanks.

I see now how this came about...very good job taking the picture and bringing it to life with your words!

I have been on the single side in love with a married man and know well what this feels like.

Now I am married and wonder if I could cross that line myself.

Sad sometimes the situations we get ourselves into and then have to walk the road when there's no turning back and no way out.

good write!
