He wrote furiously in hopes she would hear The echoes that inside his heart resound Weaving a tale of love for only her ear And a simple dream of passion unbound Too many walls and miles get in the way Little things that mean not a thing Of years wasted and since gone astray Time taken to the air upon the wing He sends the words into the hopeful sky That the winds may carry to her shore To connect somehow from heart to eye And thus become something forever more Yet he feels the words sent go unread As he senses there is nothing more he can do To change what was once alive, now dead Still he sends and he sends saying, ‘this is for you’ |

I have been busy with just getting life back in order somewhat. Started writing again, so I wanted to come here and see how you all were doing, and post my stuff again. |

When I saw a response on my poem from "Chalmette Guy" I wondered... could it be?? *S* And it IS!!! Welcome back!! *S* Several "oldtimers" have recently returned... and I'm overjoyed. *S* As he senses there is nothing more he can do To change what was once alive, now dead Still he sends and he sends saying, ‘this is for you’ Oh, can I ever identify!!! Looking backwards doesn't change anything... but moving forward without the one who gave meaning to our existence is a prospect too bleak to contemplate. And so... we send. *S* Please forgive my wordy rambling. *S* The short answer is... this is excellent! *S* |

Thank you. People remember me? Wow. I can barely remember myself. Or is that too existential? |

Sorry I don't remember you from before but I was also away for quite a while. We may have missed somehow. However, welcome back. This is very nice. Sometimes there is nothing more one can do when that hold on the heart is so powerful. Many have not been able to break free from themselves. Good work. Eric |

So are you back in Chalmette? (I haven't been in ages, but I hear that it's making an amazing recovery now) But either way, I say just grow where yer planted. It's good to see you haven't lost that poetic intensity. I'll be looking for more of your amazing metaphors. (I still haven't forgotten your explantion of inspiration--intriguing.) Welcome back, in any case. Have a hug. |

brilliant poem, it has a great universal theme these two lines struck me especially: "He sends the words into the hopeful sky That the winds may carry to her shore" |
