Stopping By The Frosty Wood Whose pen is this, for I should know, Lain laden here in winter's snow. Long still of eve, the rail and line Now burdened down in heavy bow. What purpose serves this empty pad That held the host the master had; Now occupied by empty lot Who've shaken off their frosty clad His orchard stands by ebon night, Full bathed in mellowing moon light, To set young men's heartstrings aglow. Enamored by his pen's incite. I stepped from steed and stood awhile To ponder apple seed beguile And lesser pens that find revile, And lesser pens that find revile. Turtle |

Very nice. reminds me of Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods On a Snowy Evening. Nothing like a silent moment being in touch with nature. Some great lines in this. You write so well when you come out of your shell.....Forgive the rhyme..... But what has a turtle to do but write after staying inside all the time....(smile)... Eric |

Turtle, This is a nice rubaiyat with just the right amount of alliteration to make it work. I've enjoyed this. Mark |

A fine 'Frosty' piece. You've captured the rhythm and rhyme well! BTW, I posted a reply to your Q's about my ocean opus poem. (You haven't provided an email link, so I couldn't send you a personal explanation.) Opus is used as a generic term for a musical work or composition, and synchronicity refers to the fish and swimmer moving in harmony. Hope this clears up any confusion. |
