To No One I'm no one to most and everyone when asked always a smile on my face, to be masked. The challenge, no matter, I follow it through, pushed to the brink with no thanks ever due. It's that pat on the back that goes a long way needed in work and more often in play. But I'm no one to most, maybe even to you and today's just another day to get through. M (just a tiny work-rant) |

I live to be someone to myself first then and only then can I become someone to everyone else. You are definitely not no-one around here. |

Dear Maureen, you wrote this moment of frustration very well. The simple fact that we are here, living, means we matter to someone. And you are a beautiful soul to me, whom I admire for her integrity, for her sensitivity, for her endurance, even when the challenges are tough. And you are also a very talented Poetess. Thank you. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Bruce, you know how they say that if no one comes in and checks on you, you should just feel they think you are doing a good enough job. They who say that, forget that a few pats on the back go a long way to making you know you are doing a good job and feel appreciated. Thanks for understanding. M |

There's no shortage of appreciation for you here. We've all felt that way. *hugs* Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told. |

Maureen, my friend, you are and always have been very important to me. I know how you feel, though. Because, I have felt the very same way. |

you know, sometimes there are no words left to say but..."you're wrong...you do matter" Please forgive me if I am out of place or too direct...you will find out quickly there are many here who appreciate you (keep smiling--if I had one like yours, I'd wear it every day). I'm sure that I'm not alone in this, but you have the kind of smile that's kind...when I need a smile, I always try to borrow one from you. Thanks. |

Maureen, we never really know whose life we may have touched. Those who are shy or intimidated may never work up the nerve to tell you so. But I have always felt there are many out there who will be influenced by something that you say or how you look or conduct yourself. And many younger people who may some day say, “I remember her, she taught me such and such”, or “she touched me when,” I have always told my children to act accordingly, because we never know whom we may meet or speak to who will some day feel a closeness or if we acted or behaved in a disappointing way, who we may have hurt. I remember so many who have touched my life and as I grow older rember more. For years I tried to write to those I knew who helped my own growth to let them know how much their life touched mine. Sincerely, latearrival |

I took this poem to not necessarily be a personal rant, but a comment upon the the isolating effect of modern society. Winston Smith might have wrote this in "1984". In venting your personal rant, you opened the door to universal truth. keep it up. |

Thanks Friends, I just felt like expressing the fact that we always expect that a pat on the back and positive re enforcement goes a long way for children but that we should not forget it goes a long way for adults, too in making us feel our worth ( not discounting we should be able to feel and know that ourselves). I have been long term subbing for over 3 months and I know I am doing my job well, and the children show their appreciation. It would be nice if the administration would at least pop in and make a comment good or bad in all this time. M |

I, for one, most greatly appreciate your work of educating the generations that will some day be taking care of us. I have greater faith in the future because of people like you. Thank you. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

I believe most readers will identify with this "mini-rant". We all like to feel appreciated, but in the hustle and bustle of life, our show of appreciation for others, is often in short supply. A little pat on the back can go a long way. As a teacher, I know that you know that that applies to your students as well. Remember, if they ain't complainin' ~ ya must be doin' somethin' 'write'! lol Enjoyed reading your thoughts, as per usual, Linda |

Darling Little Mo YOU are never No One you are most definitely someone, and someone who writes beautifully. I only wish I could write half as well. This week we’ve been doing I remember poems, along with villanelle, Haiku, (which I renamed Hate Ku, because I detest them) and Senryu which are not my favourite anything. I did enjoy the conversational poem, that was fun, but mainly it has been a lot of hard work. YOU I know would have sailed through it all and been praised, because your writing is superb. Miss you Little Mo, how I wish I were back in New Poet Richie, it was such fun. As always Mushy x x x x x x x Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

Dear Maureen, you must feel so much better with all those caring people giving you a word of encouragement. You are having a flat spot my dear and I hope you will soon be back to your normal happy self. You say you are no one to most but I'm sure you are someone special to us all here at PIP, you certainly are to me. Love and hugs my dear. Lindsay |

Maureen You are so right. A little commendation goes a long way. Rant away, it's a purge for the soul......Especially through the poetic perspective. Eric |

Susan I appreciate your kind words of support. Love the following... "too bad ignorance isn't painful" ~Unknown~ Linda, on my last day this week a 5 yr. old made a card for me with a stick figure drawing on the outside and inside she printed the words, "I Love You". So sweet! A great way to end my 3 months there. Hope you are feeling better. Marsha, missed you and hope all is well over there. Maybe some day we will all meet again. It was a very special week for me. Love you back, M vandana, Thank you always for your kind responses. Lindsay, nothing flat about me Just wondering why people are the way they are some days. Especially those who don't know how to appreciate one another despite differences in opinions offered, or the way something is handled. Thank you for caring. M Robert, I never rant at work... the kids make me laugh too much. e, always nice to hear from you. Glad you are around more often. M |
