Pome (Kerouacian Return)

Enter bitter fears
of ageless nighttime
wonders when no one
knows how the scarecrow
could respond so
spontaneously.
The right wing
is not fixed so
the flight won't be level
until something is made
that doesn't cause
tilting to one
side of the vast
abyss that covers
all the life that
we live.
Periodic misdemeanors
call back the birds
from their coop so
that reunions can
be had and people
can meet for the
last first time.
Sometimes these thoughts
blow over and then
things calm down
but there are the nights
when nothing works
and all that happens
is by perfect design
of my ownself.
