She went away a child, and she came home a super model.  Now she's not leaving again until she's 30.

Wow...I assume you're talking about your daughter. She sure is pretty. I'm nearly 21 (your daughter is younger than that, I know) and I am going through the same thing. They don't seem to realize that I'm growing up and changing. It's good that you are concerned about your daughter and don't want her to grow up too fast, but don't let her grow up too slow either. I will pray for both you and her.

What did she look like before the "supermodel" look?

WhiteRose,

Where did she go and for how long?  I mean, that's quite a transformation!  Did she change behaviorally as well?

She went away to boarding school. She was only 9 then.  She's still the sweet little girl she was when she left. She's just living in a grown-ups body. (as far as I'm concerned anyway) I'm putting all new locks on the house, and I'm getting a really, really big dog!! The boys are going to have to go through the dog, and me! Who knew she'd look like this at 11????

White Rose,

I understand where you are coming from.  I have 3 teenage daughters and each of them have matured at different rates of speed.  My oldest has matured physically since she was 13.  She graduates today from high school and her only ambition is to move out of the house.  My 15 year old has always been so sweet and now she is the mother of an 8 week old baby girl.  My youngest is 13 and she still has her innocense.  She has a much greater amibition for her life, especially after watching her older two sisters.  She strives to be in the legal field and is very active in her school's athletic field.

My prayers to you and your daughter.  From her pictures it seems she has matured much in a short while.  I pray that each of you will keep your mother/daughter bond because that is so important.

BluesSerenade, thank you. I'm trying to convince her that she can't go from 11 to 20, there is that 9 years in-between where she must catch up emotionally, and mentally, with her body.

Dixie, thank you dear friend. I went and looked at the pics that you posted on my site. You're daughters are beautiful, and growing up so fast. When did this happen? We turn around for a second and the next thing you know we have young ladies on our hands and the little girls are gone.

quatro, thank you for the encouragement, and of course the prayers. I'm going to need all I can get of both

It sounds like you've got your hands full. I can't imagine raising 3 daughters, I have enough of a time with just the one. I will keep you in my prayers.
