Mrs. Cleaver Syndrome

The week is over; the weekend is here.  I have used the last of my vacation days for the year.  No more days off until my anniversay hire in date which comes in the spring.  I will spend today  routine cleaning, doing laundry, one "big" chore like cleaning the stove, grocery shopping, and finally taking a big breath and saying "that's enough".   I  realize that I am a throw-back to the mentality that says it should be my birthright to stay home and just "take care of the house."  In today's ratrace I have a good job, but my house always needs cleaning.  I know, I do set my priorities, that is why my house always needs cleaning.

But sometimes, I just want to be Mrs. Cleaver.  To be able to scrub my house until it shines, to cure all the worlds problems with warm cookies and have a wise answer for everything.  I know if this were to be my lot, I'd be bored silly after a week or two, but just sometimes I want to be Mrs. Cleaver.

Ms deVine

you are "spot on"
the best of both worlds would be having mrs cleaver on for all the drudge work, and come home to a clean house, dinner cooked and a plate of warm cookies....

abbe? If you are like me? Mrs. Cleaver would sit with the martini while you showed her the proper way to "dust"! sigh

It might not be boring if Mrs. Cleaver had an occasional visit from Mr.Klean.   Just a thought. Chris

LOLOLOL @ Mr. Clean and Mrs Cleaver.  Now THERE'S a sight!

I wanna be Mrs. Brady.  She had a husband who made enough money to do EVERYTHING they wanted, she had a maid, and STILL didn't have to work (not that I can remember).  I could find enough busy work in life to keep boredom away....

*Sigh*
