I was reading some poetry on the Friends and Lovers catagory.
But there isnt any poetry about their best friend being gay.  Because, my best friend Todd, who I'm very much in love with is gay...
and I've loved him for so long.  We started out as friends, and I knew that about him since the beginning but why am I falling so hard for him? He's the most wonderful person I've ever met and he doesnt know that I really like him.  He is crushing on someone else though... and everytime, we talk about him and his crush, I feel very connected to Todd. Very happy and tranquil... and I just love being around him.  It's just that lately, he's been so "cool" he doesnt talk to me much at school... and I dunno whats wrong.
What should I do? I know it deosnt sound really complicated but it feels weird having him just ignore me sometimes, because he'd rather fit in with the cool crowd. =(

Stay connected. Friends are an important link to your own humanity, and it shouldn't matter what his/her sexual preferences are if the friendship is real. As for LOVE? It is the ultimate variable. Welcome to Passions, hope that you will find much to read and enjoy here.

Whatever you do, don't lose your friend. There are different kinds of love and the love for a friend can be so deep and rewarding! Start dating...it's the only thing to take your mind off your 'crush'. I think you will find in time, the friendship will deepen and you'll have someone you can turn to when you need them.

Definitely stay connected. Good friends can be awfully hard to find. Maybe trying to date is a good idea, but don't push too hard. Just do what feels right. Work hard on making your friendship last...thats the most important part. Maybe suggest special things the two of you can do, as friends? Good luck, I hope everything works out!

the worst thing...is too lose a friend to someone or something. So, to me i really do hope you continue staying close with Todd.

I know exactly how you feel. I was very much in love with a guy ........someone who was my best friend throughout my teen years and he was gay. I knew it....but for some reason that didnèt matter.....i still wanted him.....i feel for you.
