Ugh! I'm so frustrated and angry!! I wrote this (love poem) and put it in the youth group and then my priest told me that it was not "approite" and that I couldn't put it in!! That is the first rejection toward my poetry and I'm so upset. I can't believe that!! Here is the poem that I submitted to church..and got rejected.... Just a Dream When you look into their eyes You fill up with wonderful sighs They are in your dreams And everytime you look at them your face just beams Wishing you were in their arms Knowing that they would protect you from any harm When you wanna give them a hug You turn away cause they'll think you're a bug Their in love, but it's not you So how much you're in love with them, they don't have a clue If him and you had a chance The relationship would surly dance And if the dancing did stop Your heart would slowly drop So if things don't work out You'll know not to sit there and pout Cause it's just a dream You never know what it could mean (now how could this get rejected?!! There is nothing wrong or "not Christian like" in it!!) ~Guys are like stars, there are millions of them, but only one can make you dreams come true~ |

Nikki, very probably this wasn't a rejection of you or your poetry, but what your youth pastor felt was appropriate for your group of teens. Maybe one glorifying God would get your foot in the door? Good luck and don't be hurt or angry, just realise that not everyone understands a poet....  *hugs* ~Heather |

Niki: Sweetheart, some priests just don't feel the way the rest of us do... You hear all the constant arguments, some believe it's ok to be gay, some believe it's against their beliefs....they're just men, sweetheart and fallible, like you and me...*g* I liked it..
