 I've had lots of men in my life, bless them! I was even married four times, yes four! So you see I do like them, I just don't care to have one. You would think they'd understand that the way I live now is a "life choice," not a punishment? I do not now or ever had the need for anyone to complete me, buy me chocolates once a year, or be nice every so often, as I can do that for myself every single day, and do.  Life is about choices, and I sure wish people would respect mine! I don't need to meet a man you know, have dinner, or be felt sorry for. There! I thank you so much for your ear. I exit now stage right, feeling just so much better. I think I will wait until tomorrow and get myself a box (or two) of those great chocolates on sale, then quote Forrest Gump in the back of my mind while eating each and every one of them. Another perc of living alone, you get ALL the good chocolates.  Now all you lovers, please enjoy your day, and make it an intimate thing between two as Cupid intended it to be, wontca? |

Hey,I'm with you here. I also enjoy being with men but also enjoy the freedom to live as I feel I want to. I can sleep late or stay up all night as I do not have to worry about any one else's habits. Just little ole me! Bestest, and happy Valentine's day! enjoy it your way! martyjo |

MartyJo I don't want to get into a male-bashing thing here but you do have to admit that it is nice to have the toilet seat down, and no shorts or socks at the end of bed or on the floor isn't it? I don't even wear a watch anymore, who cares what time it is LOL |

 OMG Karen, (yes I got it!) I don't think anyone can make laugh as you do lady!Well I just got back from the mall. There is nothing like a good sale to make me feel really loved. |

Ray took me out to dinner at this classy looking little place that's rather new in this small town (as are we). We're celebrating the 53rd anniversary of our meeting. In the window we'd seen tables with linens and part of the pricy dinner menu. Definitely NOT a run of the mill, we thought. Once seated, we had quite a laugh. The only waitress wore jeans and tee shirt. We ordered our wine, which was served in fine stemware. I asked if we might have some water, which came in red plastic "COKE" glasses. The steaks were great, but when we ordered coffee with dessert, she said she had to make some fresh. They open at 5 PM and we were the first customers there. Ray had taken a tie along, in case it might be required. It was a good meal, but a much better laugh. Happy Valentine's Day! |

Rae, those are the best dinners of all, but I can imagine your surprise. I would take the local hang-out over a fancy schmanzy place any day. The elegance of days gone is being replaced with more comfortable dining that is for sure, and you know what? I like it! Glad you had yourself a Valentine's Day memory. |

Yes, me too, Sharon, but I guess Ray thought he'd give me a special treat. I was really surprised you said friends want to take you along as a 3rd wheel. I'm sure PLENTY of guys would be delighted to take you out. They could learn a lot! You sure are complete by yourself...most angels are. |

Rae, you are too sweet. Actually I did get an invitation from the one man in my life I have adored for ions, my son - and I took it! My daughter-in-love had to work at the last minute (doesn't mean she won't be spoiled though.) So...he took his 2 girls and me for Chinese food and then we all went ice skating. Now there is a real man for you. I was telling Paul Wilson in his thread, that every single year my son buys me the most beautiful card on Valentine's Day, and inside are always the same words, "To the first woman I ever loved!" Don't you just love being a mother and grandmother? There is a thread in Philosophy, about purpose, and I feel so sorry for anyone who doesn't know theirs, I really do! The purpose is there, you just have to feel it in your heart. That is the work! Yada yada, have a nice day everyone! |

He is taking a French class and is passing with flying colors. Just a note: I, too, am alone....with two kids. I love it. They keep me busy. I guess there is a part of me that doesn't want to get into getting to know someone all over again. Maybe it just isn't in the cards for me and that's o.k. Sand- Loved the story! |
