What is it that causes people to have two faces? By this I mean, why do people say one thing and then do something else, or treat people one way in front of them, then wield a knife in their back when they are not around?

It saddens me to see this so often.

I am a person of what you see is what you get, and I guess the old school of finding something good in everybody.

The pain I see this behaivour cause people makes my own heart ache.

Any thoughts?

A short answer is because they are weak and insecure. And by the way, welcome. Hope you find the blue walls to be a home away from home.

They don't have any faith and without faith people don't seem to have trust and it leads them to be that way. I thank my lucky stars that I have a friend that I know is true.

I believe the reason is because they need the "fake face" they give themselves to keep them safe from hurt or to show they are hurting. But in doing so, they also hurt the others around them. Another reason might be that they are just cruel and like to hurt others, and don't really know how to be true to himself/herself or others.

I've often asked myself the same question. I see it all the time with my friends, and it pains me. Stay true to the friends that are true to you.
