I see his disdain in the mirror staring back with arrows of accusation Who is he? His eyes implore me what does he want me to see? Backwards fall symbolic stall I learn to crawl Suffocating air reverbrating blare I pretend no care He follows me He sees my mind knows the abstract design I need to shake this never ending ache of my own make Guilt knows no vacation it is my station even as I reach for salvation |

It is hard to release something carried for a long time; it always makes me feel out of balance. I like this poem. Thank you for sharing it. |

Angel~Thank you so much for your kind words. Karilea~You are the kindest women I know. I blush at your flattery. Icy~I missed you! Out of balance indeed..I have gotten very good at turning away from the mirror before I see a reflection... Susan |

A fine little treatise on the patriarchal archetype. Er...well, that's how I saw it anyway. *wink* (No need to page Freud, I just analyze MYSELF.) Congratulations, Susan! I look forward to many more. |

Congratulations on the 1000. Sorry to hear it's sadness that has brought you to this point. However, there is hope I started with an ache I couldn't except by writing and look at me now. I've moved on but I'm still writing. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Karen~LOL I do the same! And when is the best time to analyze oneself? At night when you're all alone, when no one can see the weakness of tears.... Kethry~My ache or guilt, as in this piece, is only from time to time, I won't allow it more recognition then that...otherwise I really am at a much happier place...Thank you for reading. Icy~LOL that was what I was going to type at first then changed my mind..ignored reflection or no reflection? It's a toss up according to the day...Thank you for returning. QJQ~Thank you so much! Congrat on your 1000th post! I must say I have been on this trip before (the guilt trip) courtesy of a "he." Now I'd rather lounge around the house than to take that trip again. A great write! Patricia [This message has been edited by Patricia (08-12-2003 08:47 AM).] |
