We know that you are competent enough to do it well
Each time we get a chance to yell ‘take up your pen and write’
It is because we know my Deer your mind is filled with light
Your words have all the strength they need to weave a magic spell

Your fantasies seem real my man. They feel like some hot shower
You are right, in inner minds, we can achieve full power
And certainly you’re touching cords in all the things you write
I’m sure you will dream lovely dreams when you turn out the light
And when senility hits you Deer and it will still your bell
You’ll be a senile Balladeer with different tales to tell

You’re right that nothing lasts forever, even ‘ol’ sweet you
But all the tales you’ve told my dear, they’ll stay, I’m sure they do
And all the tender things you wrote have touched our minds and soul
You often made us laugh and cry, you really reached your goal
I think I might speak here for all that you did really well
You are a great ‘ol’ Balladeer, with tender tales to tell
