Who wants to be my Valentine, I have my love to share And also cards, a lot of them, to share is only fair So if you'll answer in a rhyme of only a few lines I'll send my cards around the world to all my Valentines You shouldn't be alone this day, at least not in your mind So if you please will give your name, I think that would be kind I'll share with you a moment's thought of friendship found in here Then I will raise my glass to you and will be drowned in beer After that my soul is filled with all your friendship's love I'll keep that love close to my heart untill I'm up above And when I'm old and I think back on all these pages blue Then I'll remember all those cards that I have send to you Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

LOL Titia. I'm as Dutch as you, but I could never figure out the "true meaning" of Valentine's Day. I suppose it always felt as an "adopted" celebration to me and, perhaps even more important, I never felt the need for a special day to express my feelings to my friends and loved ones. But, reading the replies to your poem, you seem to have figured it out, so what else can I say but: way to go girl!  |
