I was going to post this on Dec. 5. which was my first anniversary here at Piptalk, but I wasn't able to sit at my computer then, but now, David has moved it into the bedroom, so I will try to post it.Please pardon the imperfect poetry,I am taking lots of pain meds and they have a way of interfering with one's creativity in a big way.
Thank you all for your kindness and for your understanding

~A Thank You~

A year ago, I stepped inside my new blue home
love was there and friendship called my name

Inside this palace, there are no walls
only pages of poems, prayers and promise

lit by the cozy glow of cyber-light
a family of loving muses gathers
sharing words, comfort, hope and pain

from every corner of life
a hand reached out and locked with mine

you are more than my friends
you are my poetic family
thank you for lifting my name in prayer
thank you for your unwavering faith and especially, thank you for your love

I hope that next year, I can post this thank you once again

for having the opportunity to enjoy the
company of a lady as wonderful and creative
as yourself....

You know many people come into our lives and we are impressed by them for one reason or another and they stay in our mind for awhile. Then there are those special people that touch our lives and live in a place in our heart that is everlasting, and Lyra you are one of them. The thank you is returned for my life is richer having had you in it. Happy Chanukah and as you light your menorah I shall at the same time be lighting a candle in faith and hope for you Lyra.

Lyra, I am so happy to see a post here from you. And, I am glad you were here when I came. Like the others said, we are blessed to have you here. Dear Lyra, this poem says it all......and expressed so poetically--and eloquently. This indeed, is a family and you have been very instrumental in keeping that way. Your love and caring ways have had a cohesive effect, bringing us all together--in good times and in bad---even in our banding together in prayer for you--as well as our joining our words in poems and replies in support and well wishes for you.
You really do bring out the family aspect of Passions In Poetry--in sickness and in health!
