monkey's wedding simultaneous rain and sunshine. This informal South African term probably comes from a Portuguese expression translated as "vixen's wedding", which has the same meaning, but there is also a possibility that it entered South African English from a Zulu phrase. --Weird and Wonderful Words, edited by Erin McCean I like this much and thought it would be interesting to see this employed as a metaphor.
