*laughing* Oh DC, You thought you needed more excitement? That says paragraphs. But where is our resident miscreant Christopher? Last time I recall a thread regarding boredom, it was written by him--and yes, so much has happened since then... I exit cackling. |

So are you taking the link's advice and joining up? Perhaps what you need is a heated discussion on the direction that toilet paper should be pulled from the roll... I'm an 'over' girl myself. |

smile. I still maintain it is determined by the side of the print. *giggle* But yes, "over" makes for a cleaner swipe, PDV. (and I am still er, relieved, to find TP in any capacity!) |

well this is a little better. but i've got a family at home. I have dreamt of the seas, and the sky. The desert and the jungle. A half-step away from joinin' the marines, matter of fact. but my wife, and daughter need me here. my heart and prayers will be across the world, though. |

"I have dreamt of the seas, and the sky. The desert and the jungle. A half-step away from joinin' the marines, matter of fact." No it isn't. |

I want to stand on record, this once, as saying, John is absolutely correct--as far as the eyes of those who've been. Not a thing to ponder lightly, as though one might perhaps be in the school play, yanno? Prolly not. But it is true. And afterwards, if grace would grant, life would never be boring. |

i'm sorry. what i meant was i was a half-step away from joinin' the marines myself...sorry for the misunderstanding. but, i'd rather be with my family, at home. let Bush fight his own wars now. there is no justice being served. only more death. let America take care of her own, Stop being such a whore and show some love for her husband, The American! always messin around with easterners. |

Actually DC, I came back to amend myself. "And afterwards, if grace would grant, life would never be boring." Maybe I'd just like to think so? I do have some friends who served in Vietnam, in very intense combat situations, and came home, to find themselves, bored--displaced, and no respect. I pray that doesn't happen again. I don't agree with the issues. (And quite honestly, most of the enlisted I have spoken with don't even know what the issues are, either.) But don't ever underestimate the heart of a soldier...they fight to come home. I know this, 'cause they tell me so. (what? y'think I don't talk to soldiers?) *battin' lashes* sigh It is 'real' sweetie. It's war. It sucks. People actually die. Lots of 'em. |

Always remember the proverb "May you live in interesting times" is not necessarily a blessing ... Seeing the world is a little harder with a family in tow, but not impossible. I don't suppose you're of the missionary bent? One of my cousins has spent the summer in West Africa and it has changed her life - the other bounces between Colombia, London, Miami, and most recently Italy and Chile ... Joining the military to see the world is NOT good thinking. You might end up like my brother, stuck on a submarine for months at a time, never seeing the sunlight much less a foreign port! Consider instead a series of vacations where you crash the pads of your favorite PiP poets ... it's been done! |

“Always remember the proverb "May you live in interesting times" is not necessarily a blessing ...” While the Chinese: "May you live in uninteresting times" is. |
