the poetry in that simple phrase
is magnified when dressed with whispers.
I love you
so can you feel the ache of my heart needing you?
I love you
and there are no greater words that could be inspired within me right now
than these.

and I am the flame tickling a nightime wind.

fallen?
Will you endure with me until our lips
are too withered to kiss?
Will our lips ever be too withered?
I think not,
but will you anyway?
Just humor me?
Love me in the wake of tender moments?

I stretch my arms expecting to find you beyond each fingertip.
