Beyond green meadow, on distant hill, Upon the clouds, that float so still, Doth toll the bells, a faith now shaken, A Gentle Rose, by light now taken. A bloom so fair, in silence lay, Amid the chants as mourner's pray, Our sad lament, in sorrow lost, 'Tis fairest flower, to first feel frost. Come hither, angels from on high, A tender bloom, in tomb doth lie, O' Gentle Rose, in sweetness sleep, Upon the wings, of angel's keep. |

Oh my....I don't know what to say....this is so tenderly beautiful. I am fast growing fond of you Kansas boys! I happen to know one, and you make two! You're both making me wish I lived there! hehehe This is fabulous sir...just as I expected coming from you.....**curtsies** Are all Kansas men grown and raised to break hearts, and swoon the women? Just curious... Seems like you all posess that ability. LOL |

Mike - you evil evil man - making all these ladies swoon with your silky-smooth words - you oughta be ashamed (and pretty proud, too - cuz this is a great poem). |

Wonderfully written. I loved this. Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau" |

Well, I don't know anything about Kansas boys, but this one stole my heart a long time ago with his silky words. Keep weaving verses like this, Mike! They are a pleasure to read. Liz |
